Hello From The Upper East Side!

I have been absent lately. Sorry about that.

I moved to New York City from Minneapolis in the first week of June and have just been focusing on the transition and all that comes with moving across the country and starting my first “big girl job”. I am working in corporate fashion retail, specifically with Macy’s.com. I am in an entry-level buying position, and could not be happier with my job. It’s been a fun 2 months so far, and the time is kind of flying!

I live on the Upper East Side, a lovely little place. I’m close to Central Park, and I like to jog around the reservoir on 90th Street. There are a lot of family-owned small businesses on the UES, which gives it a real neighborhood feel.

I’ve stayed extremely busy around the city, and am constantly trying to maximize my time and find new things to explore and new food to eat! For Restaurant Week (going on now), my friends and I went to Butter and Fig & Olive. Fig & Olive was my favorite, with mushroom croquette for the appetizer and lobster risotto for the entree. AMAZING.

Below is me with my “rustic” apartment building. Hey, the peeling paint gives it a certain charm, right?!

Home sweet home!

As for the future of my little trend blog, I’m not sure what that’s going to look like yet. Fashion and trends are a huge interest of mine, and if blogging about this stuff was my only job, that would be a very different situation. I’ll just leave off like that for the time being…

Anyways, Happy Saturday!

Spring Outfit Post #2

When the weather is as horrible as it is in Minnesota, sometimes you have to just pretend it’s nice outside. The best way to do that is to throw on a dress, sunglasses, and bright color! I had a day off and went for a date of coffee, shopping, and dinner with my lovely mother.

Side-Zip Jacket: Kenzie (Macy’s), Dress & leggings: Express, Scarf: Pashmina, Boots: Payless,  Aviators: Fossil, Crossbody bag: Deena & Ozzy (Urban Outfitters), Bracelet: White House/Black Market.

Dinner, you ask? It’s an open-faced egg salad sandwich on baguette with provolone! D’amico…if you’re hungry now! 😉

Enough food and clothes for tonight…don’t forget to follow me!

Spring Outfit Post #1

So it took a good couple of months for Spring to arrive (in the frozen tundra of Minnesota), but now that it’s here I’ll dust off my computer and do a couple of outfit posts. The post today will be #1 in a mini series, as I have some catching up to do! It’s safe to say I’ve been MIA the past 6 weeks or so, but all for good reason, I assure you.

This first outfit was one I put together (kind of recently) when I decided to break a long couple weeks of not going out (by going out, of course). I love metallics and polka dots almost too much, I think.

cardigan: H&M. slim jeans, hoop earrings, and metallic belt: White House/Black Market. polka-dot top: Aqua (at Macy’s). Olive boots: Via Spiga

I am a huge dork.

I missed this blog. I should get better about posting.

That’s all for now…more clothes later.
